Energy storage · BESS
Engineering, tropicalisation, installation and commissioning of battery storage in Brazil — for manufacturers entering the market and for capacity auction projects.
The market
Brazil has less than 200 MW of battery storage installed and no utility-scale project in operation. Projections put the country at 1–2 GW in 2027 and 8–15 GW by 2030.
The trigger is LRCAP 2026, the country's first capacity reserve auction for storage: auctions on 2 and 4 December 2026, 15-year contracts, supply starting 1 August 2028. Minimum 30 MW, four hours of operation, six-hour recharge, 85% minimum efficiency, grid-forming required.
Manufacturers from around the world are entering. All of them hit the same wall: who does the engineering and the labour on the ground.
Container lead times currently run 14 to 18 months. Engineering decided after December 2026 enters a compressed schedule.
For manufacturers and integrators
Thermal design for the temperatures and humidity your containers will really see. Corrosion protection for the saline environment along the north-eastern coast. Dust sealing. A review of the HVAC design against local ambient conditions.
And the part that costs most when it is missing: navigating a regulatory framework that is still forming. Brazil's storage law dates from 2025, the concession rules from June 2026, the main technical standard — ABNT NBR 17153 — has been under revision since February 2026, and the IEC 62933 series is still being translated.
For a company arriving from outside, that is a moving target. Following it and turning it into design requirements before the container leaves the factory is part of the job.
The group has integrated 175+ MW of storage.
